Design Discovery: The Future's So Bright...
…You’re gonna need shades. And so will your house. Lucky for you, The Boston Shade Company recently opened a 2,000-square-foot showroom on the sixth floor of the Boston Design Center, where they showcase their twenty-plus lines of motorized shades and drapes. Open to the public as well as the trade, the innovative showroom was designed as a loft-like home environment by Cambridge-based Leslie Saul & Associates. It features a modern living room with a wood-paneled media wall, a dining area with a stone fireplace and a deluxe kitchen designed by renowned Dalia Kitchens (a neighboring showroom at the Design Center). It’s a true “experience center” where guests can see live demonstrations of lighting controls, home automation technology and motorized shades and drapes. Stop in and see it for yourself! —Erin Marvin
